Since opening its doors in 1950, the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado (GSBC) has become the school of choice for community banking professionals. Why? It's not just the fresh air and scenery. Each year we refine our school to provide the best educational experience possible. We focus on the needs of community bank managers by ensuring that class discussions, cases examples and intersession projects are targeted at issues faced by senior managers of community banks. We keep it challenging, interesting, fun, and accessible. We provide you with the information and skills to improve your firm's performance and enhance your personal growth.

After finishing the first year of classes, each participant completes three intersession research projects before attending the second year program. Each project requires the participant to use information obtained during the school session to examine an issue directly related to his/her sponsoring bank. After finishing the second year of classes, each participant completes another three (different) research projects. These projects are a core component of the educational experience in that they represent an excellent learning opportunity and provide value to the sponsoring bank.

Innovation

GSBC provides the flexibility to meet your educational needs. GSBC offers two alternatives to completing school requirements. The traditional method is to attend classes on campus for two weeks during three consecutive summers. Alternatively, we off a Computer-Based Education (CBE) program in which you complete the first week of classes for the first and second years online via instructor-lead distance education seminars from the convenience of your home or office.

Selected GSBC students may also qualify to be admitted as Second Year Direct students if you meet one of the following requirements:

  • Hold a graduate degree, such as an MBA, MS Finance, or JD
  • Hold a professional certification, such as a CFP, CFA, or CPA
  • Hold a bachelor's degree plus diploma from one of several approved banking schools

In addition, GSBC is a partner with the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in offering all graduates of GSBC credit toward an MBA degree. UNL's program can be completed entirely online and is modestly priced relative to most MBA programs offered nationally. GSBC has also partnered with the Business School at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center to offer credits to GSBC graduates for a Professional MBA or MS Finance Program.   Visit www.gsbcolorado.org and click on the link to the MBA Program under the Why GSBC? toolbar for more information.

Superior Education
Studies show that with computer-based courses like ours, you retain three times the information learned through lectures and correspondence courses. Three times! Research and GSBC's banker-students concur that GSBC offers superior educational results and value because of our Computer-Based Education (CBE) program.

A Commitment to You

The keys to GSBC's success are a belief in the human dignity of individuals, the focus on educational value and personal growth, and superior results. GSBC offers a rigorous, no-nonsense approach to banker education.

You Can Have It All
GSBC offers a rigorous, no-nonsense approach to banker education. No short-cuts. No halved sessions. You can select our regular two-week school session enhanced with computer-based education or, if you need to curtail your time away from your bank, take core courses via the Internet. Both offer the same complete educational benefits.
