A familiar face to community bankers, Dr. Koch has taught at various graduate banking schools for the past 25 years. He began teaching at GSBC in 1992 and currently teaches Asset & Liability Management II to second year students. Tim is a lifelong financial educator who specializes in risk management, bank performance analysis, fixed-income securities, and macroeconomics. During the 1990s, Tim participated in a U.S. Treasury program to teach bankers in Eastern Europe.

In addition to working with GSBC, Tim holds the South Carolina Bankers Association Chair of Banking at the University of South Carolina. He is co-author of Bank Management, a leading textbook on banking issues and the author of curriculum materials used in many state banking schools across the country. He is currently working on research projects related to S Corp. banks, strategies with bank investment portfolios, firms filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and behavioral finance issues related to individual investors.
